Real world messaging service launches in Second Life

Italian IT solutions provider Italtel has partnered with Telecom Italia to create a ‘First Life’ communicator for user within popular on-line world Second Life.

Second Life boasts a population of hundreds of thousands as well as it’s own economy.

First Life communicator allows Second Life users visiting Alice and Tim islands to make phone calls, as well as send SMS establishing a connection with the real world whilst maintaining their on-line identity.

The application is built upon Italtel’s Service Box. Service Box allows service providers to add services including phone calls, instant messaging, text messages to any device compatible with the technology.
